We’re Seeking Council Members

The New Mexico Academy for the Media Arts (NMAMA), formerly known as Media Arts Collaborative Charter School (MACCS), is currently seeking dedicated community members to join its Governing Council.

Who We Are Looking For

The school is specifically seeking individuals with expertise in fields that ensure sound governance and institutional growth, including:

  • Professional Expertise: Business, Law, Finance, or Real Estate.
  • Facilities & Operations: Building construction and maintenance.
  • Education & Community: Educational leadership or a passion for strengthening public education in New Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Oversight: Uphold the school’s vision and ensure academic, financial, and organizational accountability.
  • Policy & Governance: Establish and review organizational policies in accordance with the New Mexico Charter Schools Act.
  • Financial Stewardship: Provide ethical and financial oversight to support the school’s mission.
  • Commitment: Attend regular meetings held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 12:00 PM (Noon) via a hybrid format (in person and via Zoom).

To express your interest, please submit a letter of interest and a current resume to Governing Council President Carolyn Carlson at ccarlson@nmmediaarts.org. Positions remain open until filled.

Governing Council meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 12 PM NOON on ZOOM. When necessary, Governing Council working meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday at various times and locations around the Nob Hill District.

Media Arts seeks additional Governing Council Members with expertise in education, business, law, finance, real estate, building construction and maintenance, or other such fields beneficial to the School’s Mission and the efficient, sound governance of the School. Serving as a Governing Council member helps strengthen public education in New Mexico.
