Currently, Media Arts is accepting applications for grades 6 through 11 for the 2025-2026 school year. After applying for the current school year, you will be notified to complete the registration process. You will then need to submit transcripts and/ or grades, shot records, and a birth certificate with your completed Registration Packet to fully register at Media Arts.

STEPS FOR THE LOTTERY PROCESS AT NMAMA

Each year, as per state regulations, admission to public charter schools is done by a lottery process. Learn more about lottery regulations.

Current NMAMA students are automatically entitled to enroll the following year without participating in the lottery. Children of employees employed by NMAMA and siblings of currently enrolled students have priority for admission, subject to space availability, but must complete the New Enrollment Packet. 

The lottery does not guarantee admission, but provides a structure for which the school uses in filling available spots. 

The Lottery Window opens in February of each year. 

Lottery drawing results will be shared with families within one week of the close of the lottery.  Families of students selected through the lottery will have two weeks from the date of notification to accept or decline their space; This acceptance requires completion of all registration paperwork. OPEN HOUSES FOR 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR PROSPECTIVE FAMILIES 

Two open house opportunities will be provided during lottery two. These informational sessions will help prospective families learn more about the academic program offered at NMAMA, staff backgrounds and qualifications, and important dates for registration and the 26-27 school year. MARCH 2-MARCH 6, 2026 – Lottery 1 selection notifications (via email and telephone)

MARCH 27, 2026 – Deadline to accept enrollment spot for lottery 1 new students (You must fully complete all registration paperwork or decline spot if no longer interested)

Note:

  • Siblings are given priority in the lottery process, but are still required to fill out an application for each child in your family. There is no guarantee of admission for siblings if there are no openings in the grade for which you have applied.
  • NMAMA does not carry over lottery applications from one year to the next. The lottery begins anew every year in January.
  • NMAMA keeps the lottery waitlist, and continues to seat students on the waitlist until December. After December, the waitlist closes. 
  • If NMAMA calls and emails a family with an available spot, the family must respond within the timeframe shared above.
  • The date the application is received has no bearing on the lottery pull.
